There’s a dark and light to Keelan Mak’s music. It’s a push and pull between melancholy and enlightenment. It breaks through into a dark and haunting place; an ethereal dreamscape, where song is melded with consciousness in his fragile form of expression. The smooth velvet of Mak’s voice pushes through his rich production in an inviting manner, as we fall down the rabbit hole and into his imagination. Each finger click adds to the dry and barren atmosphere where nothing is lost, instead, building on the fire in a slow burning groove.
Emerging from Brisbane, Mak’s music is a smoky, sultry mixture of the inner-city. His music is inspired by the art and artists that make up this fast-paced and evolving metropolis, which can be heard in his unique blend of indie electronica.
